Civil War Pilgrim explores inherited memories from the Greek Civil War (1946–1949). Combining oral history, performance, and composition, it examines how trauma, displacement, and exile persist across generations, shaping identity and belonging. The trilogy stages reimagined fragments of family narratives as performance actions filmed in the landscapes of England and Scotland, where the artist lived during the creation of the work. Accompanied by an original score performed by the Edinburgh Contemporary Ensemble, the piece transforms these memories into an abstract pilgrimage that seeks to haunt sociocultural ghosts of the past.
